Welcome to my Website...
So, at a guess if your visiting my website your probably an Amateur Radio Operator? if not, your still more than welcome here... :)
So you may be wonder, what is that very strange combination of numbers and letters? 2E0RDJ that is not English you may be thinking?
2E0RDJ is an Amateur Radio Call sign issued to me in December 2013. Previously i was licensed as M6RDC (march 2013).
So your next question maybe then, "What the heck is Amateur Radio?" or "Is it like CB?"
"Amateur radio is a popular technical hobby and volunteer public service that uses designated radio frequencies for non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, and emergency communications." - Source: RSGB (link here)
If you are interested in learning more about amateur radio, or would like to become a radio ham operator, i recommend checking out the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) Website.

a few weeks back i noticed that my diamond v-2000 Collinear has a slight SWR issue, yesterday i had delivered a brand new sharmans x-300 antenna. I plan to put this up tomorrow. the new antenna is 3.18m long and has slightly better gain figures than the v-2000. Also i am losing the 6m inverted "V" dipole (on the v2000) - I hardly ever use 6m, I can soon make myself a wire dipole which is tuned for 6m rather than using a collinear.

My recent HF activities have come to a little bit of a halt; This is due to a slight fault that has developed with my Kenwood TS-870. There are two very small Glass fuses that protect the receive circuit from strong signals. These can blow from static, I have now purchased two replacement fuses of eBay, Not the original ones but these are meant to be better than the originals so i though i would give these a go. - LINK HERE
Kenwood Part Number: DSA-301LAT
Fault: No receive on Kenwood TS-870

Today I put up my home brew HF Fan Dipole. I have quickly drawn up some plans as a few people were interested in what materials I used and what lengths I cut the antenna to. I am not using a balun at the present time, although I am thinking of buying one, if anyone has a 1:1 balun on your fan dipole can you please email me and let me know if it makes much of a difference? - Thanks in advance..
I have been using this fan dipole today on 40m running 50w from my Kenwood TS-50 and had some amazing results (59+30 into Chelmsford, Essex) and 59+10 into Edinburgh. The dipole is running east to west in my garden,

Throughout the duration of this weekend, I have spent a few hours just generally cleaning up this website and adding a few more little features and pages. The Changes I have made:
Layout of Weather Tab Navigation (My WX & Secondary Sources). I have also Added a page dedicated for explaining the Weather station setup as well as a comparison between the WMR-88 AND WMR-928... I Also re-added the Shack Cam page. The camera in use is a Logitech C270 and updates every three seconds when I am in the shack (providing I remember to start the software),

After a very frustrating week with my Web and FTP server. I would like to inform you that my Server is now back online and seems to be running smoothly once again. Having spent alot of time re-securing the server from threats and hackers, it seems somewhat more secure than previously before. Tonight i had a massive problem with my dynamic DNS service, this took a long time to fix (all night). Many thanks to Stewart G0LGS who was able to offer some support on this.
